Within our electronics-NICT team, Simon assists French and foreign clients in the acquisition and defense of their intellectual property rights, in particular through the drafting of patent applications and patent prosecution, including grant and opposition proceedings, in France, Europe and abroad.

He also advises clients on the definition and implementation of their intellectual property strategy.

A telecommunications engineer graduated from INSA Lyon, Simon also holds a Ph.D. in telecommunications from Université Grenoble Alpes, obtained after an initial three-year experience as a research engineer in wireless communications at CEA.

Simon began his career in intellectual property in 2020 at the French Patent Office (INPI) as an examiner, before joining a major Parisian IP law firm in 2022. He joined CASALONGA in 2025.

He works mainly in the fields of telecommunications, artificial intelligence, software, electronics and semiconductors.

Drawing on his experience with clients of varied profiles — including start-ups, research organizations and major industrial groups — Simon assists them in understanding the issues they face and supports them in making the most appropriate decisions regarding their intellectual property strategy.

He has a particular interest in the patentability of computer-implemented inventions and in standard-essential patents.
