Marianne Gabriel has over 20 years of experience as a French lawyer in all areas of Intellectual Property, both in advisory and litigation matters. She became a partner at CASALONGA in 2009.

She advises major French and international companies in protecting and defending their Intellectual Property rights (patents, trademarks, designs, copyright, domain names, internet, unfair competition, and parasitism). She regularly pleads before the courts and also assist her clients in mediation, favoring alternative dispute resolution methods.

She is particularly involved in IP disputes and complex litigation, both national and international, especially in the fields of pharmaceuticals, chemistry, mechanics and telecommunications. She has developed recognized expertise in Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPCs) and Standard Essential Patents SEP/FRAND.

She has extensive experience in defining and coordinating IP strategies, particularly in implementing strategic decisions in the context of asset transfers (audits, due diligence, acquisitions, mergers, etc.), drafting and negotiating contracts (assignments, licenses, know-how transfers, partnerships, confidentiality agreements, research and development agreements, etc.), and in dispute resolution.

Adjunct teaching / Professional organizations

Marianne Gabriel teaches drug law in the framework of the Master 2 Industrial Property and Health Innovations at the University of Paris VIII and regularly speaks at conferences in the field of intellectual property.

She actively participates in many professional associations: French Association of Trademark and Design Law Practitioners (APRAM), Pharmaceutical Trade Marks Group (PTMG), European Patent Lawyers Association (EPLAW), French Association of Industrial Property Attorneys (AAPI), Association of European Patent Practitioners (APEB), International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), French Association for the Protection of Industrial Property (AFPPI), Licensing Executives Society France (LES France), Stanislas de Boufflers Institute. She is notably on the Board of the AFPPI, where she serves as secretary and is also secretary of the APEB.
