Sharp-minded and ready to go the extra-mile, Denise has extensive experience in developing bespoke IP strategies for her clients. Her international background makes her an ideal partner for multinational teams.

Qualified not only as German and European, but also Swiss patent attorney, Denise has more than 10 years of experience in IP.

She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biotechnology, with her practice focusing mainly on patent work in the fields of genetic engineering, immunology, biochemistry, antibodies, microbiology, diagnostics, pharmaceutical compositions and therapeutic applications.

Denise advises large companies as well as start-ups and spin-offs and everything in between, drafting applications, supervising global prosecution and providing FTO and validity analyses. She is also well experienced in opposition and appeal procedures before the European Patent Office (EPO), both on the proprietor and opponent side.

Furthermore, Denise represents clients in trademark and design matters before the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt (DPMA)) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

Another focus of her work lies within Greater China. Having studied in China for two years, Denise is not only fluent in Mandarin, but also has a deep understanding of Chinese business culture.

Denise joined CASALONGA’s Munich office in 2025. Prior to joining CASALONGA, she worked for a German IP boutique, becoming a partner there in April 2024.

Professional organizations

Denise is admitted to the German patent bar (Patentanwaltskammer) and is a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) as well as observer to the Asian Patent Attorney Association (APAA).

Within epi, she is on the Biotechnology Committee and the European Patent Practice Committee (EPPC) for Pharmaceuticals. She is also an active member of the ECII committee for the European Qualifying Exam (EQE).
