German attorney-at-law, Benjamin practices all aspects of patent law, with a focus on German and UPC infringement litigation.
For the last 25 years, Benjamin has acted for more than a hundred different clients, representing them in dozens of patent related trials. He works for plaintiffs and defendants from all industries. In particular, he is familiar with the additional regulatory aspects in the pharma and life sciences space (including Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPCs)), and he has handled more than 50 Standard Essential Patents SEP/FRAND cases in the telecoms and consumer electronics field.
Benjamin has acted in arbitrations, both as counsel and as arbitrator. In addition to his contentious work, he is advising clients on transactions involving patents, in particular complex license and R&D agreements.
In 2025, Benjamin joined CASALONGA as a partner in the Düsseldorf office.
Professional organizations
Benjamin is an active member in several IP and patent related organizations and has presented on many topics from his area of expertise. He is notably a member of GRUR (Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht), VPP (Vereinigung von Fachleuten des Gewerblichen Rechtsschutzes) and the Licensing Executives Society (LES).
