With a solid background in mechanical engineering and over 15 years of experience in intellectual property law, Alessandro advises Italian and international clients on all aspects of patent protection - from drafting and prosecution to litigation and portfolio management.

He has extensive experience in handling patent applications before the European Patent Office and the Italian Patent and Trademark Office. Alessandro also assists clients in infringement and nullity actions before national courts, and provides strategic advice in the fields of patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement risk assessment.

Alessandro works across a broad range of technical areas, with particular focus on packaging industries, geotechnical and hydraulic engineering, mechanical design, and industrial plant technology. His practical understanding of industrial processes stems from his early career as an R&D engineer and mould designer in the automotive sector.

He also advises on design and trademark matters, IP contractual agreements such as licensing and assignments, and regularly conducts prior art searches, patent watch, and portfolio audits.

Before joining CASALONGA, Alessandro spent more than a decade at a leading Italian and Swiss IP firm, where he supported clients in Italy and abroad.

Alessandro is a member of the Ordine dei consulenti di proprietà industriale (the Chamber of Patent Attorneys – the professional association of Italian Patent Attorneys) and of the European Patent Institute (epi).
