Both responsive and rigorous, Augustin is an expert in the electronic and telecom sectors, with a keen interest in challenging questions remated to FRAND licenses and commitments in telecom litigation.
Augustin has been working in the field of emerging technologies (IT, telecoms, Artificial Intelligence (AI), image processing, Internet of Things (IoT), etc.) and electronics for over 20 years. Augustin’s particular interest in patents in the telecom field led him to examine issues relating to standards and related patents, such as patent essentiality and FRAND commitment, the subject of his Masters thesis.
His technical skills and experience enable him to understand all the issues faced by his clients, from French and foreign SMEs to multinationals, in order to support them in their industrial property policy and help them make the most appropriate decisions.
Augustin has been a European Patent Attorney since 2007, and a French Patent Attorney since 2009. He is involved in the acquisition of IP rights, in particular in the drafting of patent applications and grant procedures, in France, Europe and abroad, and represents his clients before the Offices.
He has also developed extensive skills in the defense of IP rights, in opposition proceedings before patent Offices, and in the management of patent litigation, working in tandem with attorneys-at-law, in disputes before national courts. He regularly acts as an expert in infringement seizures.
Graduated from the engineering school Télécom Paris (Polytechnic Institute of Paris), Augustin first worked in the telecom industry, before joining a major French IP law firm as a patent attorney. After taking charge of a branch office in the west of France, he became a partner in 2018.
In 2024, Augustin, joined CASALONGA as a partner. Based in Nantes, he actively contributes to the creation of our new local office in this city, which he develops, in coordination with the Paris team.
