During the Managing IP EMEA Awards 2026 in London, CASALONGA has received the prestigious “Europe Impact Case of the Year” award for its role in the case representing Syngenta against Sumi.

In this case, our Düsseldorf team of attorneys-at-law, composed of Benjamin Grzimek, Jörn Peters et Aylin Cremers, in collaboration with patent attorney Aloys Hüttermann, of Michalski · Hüttermann & Partner mbB, secured several important victories in landmark decisions on preliminary measures, scope of injunctions, procedural issues and – last but not least – access request applications before the Local Division Munich and the Court of Appeal of the Unified Patent Court. One of the decisions was issued when the team was still with their previous firm, Fieldfisher.

Presented annually, MIP’s “Impact Case of the Year” award recognizes Intellectual Property disputes that have a significant impact, which is undoubtedly true for the dispute we handled for Syngenta.
