On February 24, 2014, the French President signed a law authorising ratification of the Agreement on the Unified Patent Court (UPCA).

It must be reminded that this Agreement will enter into force as soon as at least 13 Contracting Member States will have ratified the Agreement, among which compulsorily, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

At present, only Austria has ratified in August 2013. France therefore becomes the second Member State to ratify the Agreement and the first among the three main Contracting Member States.
