Simon Bicaïs

European and French Patent Attorney, Simon assists French and foreign clients in the acquisition and defense of their intellectual property rights, in particular through the drafting of patent applications and patent prosecution, including grant and opposition proceedings, in France, Europe and abroad.

He also advises clients on the definition and implementation of their intellectual property strategy.

Within our electronics-NICT team, Simon works mainly in the fields of telecommunications, artificial intelligence, software, electronics and semiconductors.

Drawing on his experience with clients of varied profiles – including start-ups, research organizations and major industrial groups – Simon assists them in understanding the issues they face and supports them in making the most appropriate decisions regarding their intellectual property strategy.

He has a particular interest in the patentability of computer-implemented inventions and in standard-essential patents.

A telecommunications engineer graduated from INSA Lyon, Simon also holds a Ph.D. in telecommunications from Université Grenoble Alpes, obtained after an initial three-year experience as a research engineer in wireless communications at CEA.

Simon began his career in intellectual property in 2020 at the French Patent Office (INPI) as an examiner, before joining a major Parisian IP law firm in 2022. He joined CASALONGA in 2025.

Simon is a member of the French Patent and Trademark association (Compagnie nationale des conseils en propriété industrielle – CNCPI) and of the European Patent Institute (epi).

Mathilde Alleaume

Within our International team, Mathilde is involved in both counseling and litigation in all areas of intellectual property law, including trademarks, designs, know-how, copyrights, domain names, unfair competition and publicity.

More particularly, she assists and advises international companies in developing and implementing strategies for the protection, enforcement and defense of their intellectual property rights.

She also assists clients in negotiating and drafting intellectual property-related contracts, including license, assignment, coexistence and prior rights agreements.

Mathilde joined CASALONGA international team in 2026. Prior to joining the firm, she gained substantial experience within Chamber 1 of Division 5 of the Paris Court of Appeal, which specializes in intellectual property litigation, in the IP/IT departments of several leading French and international business law firms, as well as in the Legal & Business Affairs department of a major French communications consulting group.

Eduardo Martinez Buil

Spanish Attorney at law (Abogado), based in Casalonga's Alicante office, Eduardo practices primarly in intellectual property law, with a particular focus on trademark and design proceedings before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM).

He handles the preparation and follow-up of trademark filing and prosecution matters in Spain and abroad, as well as opposition, cancellation and revocation proceedings. His work notably covers proof of use issues, assessment of likelihood of confusion, clearance searches, evidence analysis, design filings, domain name reservations, and the drafting of cease-and-desist letters, and enforcement-related work. He is also involved in trademark portfolio management and in coordinating cross-border IP matters with foreign associates.

After several professional experiences in law firms, he joined CASALONGA in 2023.
