December 2020 - Germany - Ratification of the UPC agreement again delayed

Two new complaints have been filed before the German Constitutional Court against the ratification law of the UPC agreement.

The German Constitutional Court has already ruled on a first complaint and decided that, indeed, the intially voted ratification law was invalid since it had not been voted with a sufficient majority by the German Parliament.

In the mean time, the German Parliament has again voted on 26 November 2020, a new ratification law with the required large majority, which should have allowed the ratification process to be pursued.

Now the ratification process in Germany may again be stopped until the German Constitutional Court rules on those two new complaints.

We will not fail to let you know any new development in this particularly long process.
